Looking after it
Recycled steel doesn't need much. A few things are worth knowing so it lasts as long as it's meant to.
Before first use
Wash before you use it for the first time, and after that, whenever it needs it. Hand wash is recommended over the dishwasher, particularly for lids with moving parts.
Hot drinks
Take care handling hot liquids. Mugs shouldn't be sealed with contents hotter than 73°C, as steam can build up under the lid. Flasks shouldn't be filled above 85°C.
Straw caps & spouts
Straw and spout lids aren't designed for hot, carbonated or pulpy drinks. Stick to still, cold liquids through these openings.
Day to day
Rinse after each use and let it dry fully before closing the lid. Steel doesn't stain or hold on to smells the way plastic can, so it should need very little upkeep beyond that.
